Akrapovic performance parts

“To constantly excite”. That’s the stated mission of performance exhaust systems manufacturer Akrapovic. Founder Igor Akrapovic competed as a superbike rider before retiring and founding a motorcycle tuning business called Skorpion - the creature being the English translation of Igor’s surname.
He set to work in 1991 to build a series of custom exhaust systems, as Akrapovic felt that the highest quality aftermarket exhausts were too expensive for many drivers who simply wanted a system which offered benefits of being lightweight, a special kind of sound associated with high-performance driving, and the potential to last longer than most standard exhausts. So he designed his own exhaust system, replacing heavy steel with lighter carbon fibre and, where possible, plastic. Akrapovic made its first car exhaust system in 2004, and within five years, it joined up with the Audi Le Mans team, a partnership that has continued ever since. The company produces 95% of its exhaust parts in-house, using state-of-the-art 2D and 3D laser cutting machinery.
