Overview
In October 2018 Audi debuted the mid-cycle facelift of the Type 4S R8. The base V10 and V10 Plus models were renamed the V10 quattro and V10 performance quattro respectively. Engine power was increased by 30PS to 562PS for the V10 quattro and by 10PS to 620PS for the V10 performance quattro.
Upgraded brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and a new steering rack all contribute towards an even more direct handling experience than the already formidable prior generations.
Unfortunately, this generation (for non-US cars at least) featured the introduction of the dreaded Gasoline Particulate Filter, which gives lucky owners even more of a reason to get an aftermarket exhaust to free up some of the throttled exhaust note.
