By the time the 348 GTB/GTS/TB/TS emerged, the Prancing Horse had captured the imagination of car nuts the world over with the Testarossa. So it followed that the last V8 Ferrari to be designed under the direct supervision of Enzo Ferrari adopted some obvious design cues from its supercar sister, most notably the rectangular backlights and purposeful straked bodyside air intakes. It saw the introduction of several important technological changes such as the first electronic engine management systems in a production Ferrari. A soft-top option became available from 1993.
