There’s a good argument for this car being held up as the one which revitalised Mercedes’ reputation among mainstream car buyers. To this date, sporting Mercedes saloons hadn’t made much of a mark, but a massive proportion of the 457bhp on tap and the 500Nm of torque under the bonnet of the C63 AMG is available between 2,000 and 6,250rpm, and marshalled through a seven-speed auto gearbox.
