Overview
The 2010 reworking of the E63 AMG marked the departure of the naturally-aspirated engine, replaced by a 5.5-litre unit whose twin turbos could wind it up to 577bhp. When this was combined with a claimed economy figure of 28.8mpg - on both standard and S models - and maximum levels of pulling power available from as little as 1,750rpm, you could see where this car’s appeal lay.
