Overview
With direct heritage extending back to the extraordinary W180 “Ponton” Mercedes of 1954, new S-Class models always have exceptionally large boots to fill. Yet, time and time again Mercedes’ new offerings are met with raucous applause and become an object of aspiration for countless petrolheads the world over.
Released in 2020, the W223 chassis S-Class is the seventh direct S-Class descendant, and the twelfth in the line of range topping four door saloons from Mercedes Benz. The S500 in particular features a 429hp version of the Mercedes M256 inline 6 turbocharged engine, with mild Hybrid EQ boost.
The interior is a veritable maelstrom of the most cutting-edge technologies available in passenger cars today, with the inclusion of the newest version of the MBUX infotainment system, automatic air recirculation when poor air quality is detected, adaptive cruise control, automatic steering, lane departure warning, emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition to name but a few!
